Sport Star Academy & Sumo Energy Launch “As Local As” Grants Program

Does your child live and breathe sport? Whether it’s kicking goals in the backyard, racing friends at the park, or showing off their basketball skills in the driveway, we know that kids have an endless passion for play, movement and competition.

At Sport Star Academy, we believe every child deserves the chance to shine, no matter where they’re from. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the Sport Star “As Local As” Grants Program, proudly supported by our friends at Sumo Energy.

This exciting initiative gives families across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland the opportunity to win a full-term Sport Star Academy scholarship valued at $250 – helping more kids experience the joy, confidence and growth that sport brings.

🎉 What’s Up for Grabs?

A total of 9 scholarships will be awarded, with:

• 3 scholarships for kids in NSW
  
  
• 3 scholarships for kids in VIC
  
  
• 3 scholarships for kids in QLD
  
  

Each scholarship covers a full term of Sport Star Academy programs at any participating location – a chance for your child to develop their skills, make new friends, and be part of an inspiring sporting community.

⚡ How to Enter

Entering is simple, fun and all about showcasing your child’s passion for sport:

1. 🎥 Record a short video of your child (aged 5–12) doing their favourite sporting activity – think kicking, sprinting, dunking, bowling, or simply showing their love of sport.

A panel of judges from Sport Star Academy and Sumo Energy will review all entries and select winners based on:

It’s not about being the fastest, strongest or most talented – it’s about celebrating the joy and energy kids bring to sport every day.
